For our family vacation this year we had our first family experience camping at Twin Lakes in Mammoth , Ca. Besides the many nights of hearing bears through our camp, we had a great week camping. We did a lot of bike riding through our camp grounds, hiking to Devil’s Post pile and Lake Arrowhead, and even some fishing. Grandma and Grandpa were on their way home from visiting Aunt Lindsay and they were able to stay one night with us. The boys loved hiking around with them and sitting by the campfire telling “spooky” stories. It was very ironic that in our same came was Blake’s preschool teacher, Mrs. Boehm and her family. We had a blast with them and the boys loved getting to know her daughter Ally. They all went on a boat ride around Twin Lakes, they played in the freezing water at the bottom of the waterfall, rode bikes from bridge to bridge, sat by the campfire, and even played a game of allowance. The Boehm family really added something special to our week camping.

Getting a picture with all 3 is not easy!

For all of you parents out there that want so desperately to get a picture of "all" of your children together know that this is no easy task. Once you get them all to finally sit down at the same time and finally snap the picture either one looks away, starts to cry, or end up with their eyes closed. So here is my attempt at all 3 boys together while playing at the park today. This is the best you are going to get with eyes closed and all! Oh well, I will continue to dream of the perfect picture with all of my boys dressed nicely and clean with all eyes on the camera and the perfect smile!

Brody's on the Move!

I thought that I would share this video for those of you who have not seen Brody walking yet....he is on the move. He started "really" walking about 4 weeks ago now and he loves it. Brody's favorite toy is a ball and he says the word very well. He also says "HI and BYE" and his favorite is "Doggy" and can make the doggy noise. Brody loves to be outside and exploring the back yard, he keeps right up with his older brothers.

For the 4th of July weekend we were up in Big Bear at Grampa & Grandma's big cabin with the Schalliol's, the Pilkenton's, and the Holmes' families. We all had a blast and the boys even made some new friends. One of the best parts of the trip was Grampa's new boat and riding the tube behind it, even Aunt Jen & Ryan got in on the fun!

On the 4th of July we ate lots of yummy food, played some horseshoes, washers, ping-pong, frisbee toss, and even darts. Brandon and his new friend Kaila were a team and they were so excited to be a part of the competition.

Scotty and his sister Jen.....it was a bitter sweet part of the weekend because we were so glad to spend some time with Aunt Jen, Uncle Jody, & Ryan but today they left for Belgium for 3 years. Although we are excited for their great adventure, we are sad to see them go and they will be missed!

Memorial Day Masters

For Memorial Day this year my sweet husband decided to host a memorial day golf tourney with family, friends, and neighbors. It was a huge event and a big undertaking that "we" didn't expect would have such a huge turn out. There were approximately 80 adults and children with a bounce house, yummy food, and great entertainment. The golf tournament was a hit!

We started the day with registration and the kids tee off was at 3:30. All of the kids who entered the tournament had a great time and for those who did not had fun playing in the bounce house and the water (baby pools) that served as obstacles on our course.

Brandon and a couple of his buddies entered the tournament and ended up doing very well andhad a lot of fun!

Our Baby is ONE!

Look out WORLD cuz here I come, I just turned ONE!

On May 27th our little baby turned ONE...Can't believe that this year has gone by so fast. Brody has been such a joy to our family and he is constantly reminding us how fast life is going by and to laugh when things are tough! Brandon and Blake love their baby brother and are always trying to teach him new things. His birthday was at the beach where we BBQ'd and spent time in the sun with family & friends.

Brody loved his birthday cake and of course it ended up all over him and the sand below. What are first birthdays for, right?

For Brody's birthday present we got him this cool car the we can push him around and as he gets older he can even move himself around in it. The cool part of this car is that it has blinkers and plays music, that Brody dances to when ever he turns it on. So cute and he loves it!

He also got this cute beach chair from Nene & Papa that he loves to sit in. Brody has mastered the sound of a monkey and it is just adorable. He is a fast crawler and loves to stand up without touching anything, but our little man has yet to master walking on his own. I know that he will very soon and we will be chasing him all over the place. Happy first birthday Sweet boy!

Bring on the Baseball!

This was the first year the both of the boys played baseball. Brandon was on the White Sox and Blake was on the Mets. No one told us how much of a commitment Baseball is and with two boys it is a real commitment.

The great thing about both of their teams was that they each had friends on the team and they both made lots of new friends as well. The big highlight of the season was when Brandon played such an awesome game, he caught the ball at first to make many outs, smashed the ball in the outfield when he was up to bat, and best of all he took home the game ball! Way to go Brandon.

February/March 2010

In February Brandon turned 6 years old and we celebrated with some of his friends at a Rock Climbing Gym...it was very important that Brandon had "NO GIRLS" as he put it that came to his party because he is such a big boy now. He had a blast as the parent hoisted the kids up the rock wall. What a big boy!

At the end of March our little Blakie turned 4! For his birthday we went to Seascape Kids fun with all of his friends and he loved climbing on all of the blow up climbers and especially shooting the nerf guns at everyone. Blake has also been doing very well in his first year of preschool and he loves his teacher and friends.

For Easter this year we visted the Easter Bunny at Fashion Island and the boys loved it. Brody was especially brave being that he has never met the Easter Bunny before and he gave him one look and then smiled for the picture.

Later that day, we decorated Easter eggs at Nene & Papa's new house at the beach. What a different atmosphere to celebrate with the bay right in front of you and a cool ocean breeze. We ended the day with seeing How to Train your Dragon....what a fun Movie! Easter Day, after church, we had everyone over to our house for a big Easter Egg hunt and money egg! Brandon, Blake, & Brody loved spending time with their Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, & Cousin.

5K & 1/2 Marathon

On February the 7th, in Huntington Beach, Scotty and I ran in the 5K and 1/2 marathon races with our good friends Darren & Melissa. Melissa and I finished our race in 40 minutes and Darren and Scotty finished their 1/2 marathon in just over 2 hours. It was a very fun day and a great accomplishment for us both.

Christmas morning was very exciting at our house this year....the boys were very carefully inspected the house for signs of Santa before they looked under the tree for their gifts from him. They even made sure that Santa and the reindeers got their snacks that was left for them.

Santa brought them everything that they wanted!Santa brought Brandon a real baseball bat, a football, and his very own set of goflclubs. Can you tell that he loves sports or what! Daddy has already taken him to the driving range for some practice and he did awesome.All Blake wanted for Christmas was for Santa to bring him a bike.....but not just any bike, it had to be green! So I think that Santa used the greenest green he could find so everyone could see little Blakie coming.Stockings are always one of the kids and Daddy's favorite part of the morning. It is always so exciting to see what Santa left in them, thankfully no one received coal this year!
Christmas afternoon we went over to Aunt Jen and Uncle Jody's house to celebrate and have a yummy ham dinner. Brandon and Blake always love to play in their back yard and see their cousin Ryan.

Holiday Fun with Brandon, Blake, & Brody

The holidays, with the Brandon, Blake, & Brody, were a lot of fun filled with tons of energy! We started the season with a few parties with our friends, decorating cookies, writing Santa a letter with all of our present requests, looking at Christmas lights, and Brandon & Blake performed together in their school Christmas Program. It was quite a show, with little Blakie stealing the spotlight with his loud singing voice and cool dance moves. Brandon's class memorized the story of the wisemen visiting baby Jesus and recited the whole thing for the program....he did awesome. He also had two speaking lines that he said loud and clear. After wiping the tears from laughter we were very proud of our two big boys!

Scotty spent most of the first half of the christmas season working on a puzzle. It was supposed to be something that he and the boys could do together, but Daddy became a little obsessed with getting it done. He was so proud of his puzzle and the boys were amazed that he finished it all while they were asleep. To bad we had to take it down for Christmas festivities. Good Job Scotty!

Brody is 7 Months

It is hard to believe that our little guy is already 7 months old...he is now sitting by himself and is starting to scoot himself on his tummy. Brody is really a happy baby and has made having 3 kids pretty easy for us, lets pray that he continues.

His first Christmas was a blast. He loved watching his big brothers open presents and he even opened a few of his own, although he enjoyed the paper more than the gift itself!

Brody loves his bath time and gets so excited when we sing his bathtime song "baby Brody bathtime, it's Brody's bath time", you'll have to hear it to really understand!

After Christmas we took the kids to the Grand Canyon and to ride on the Polar Express. Brody loved it and although it was really cold, he did fantastic as you can tell by his smile! I will post more Polar Express photos soon!

Pre Halloween Fun!

Brody is now 5 Months old and growing faster and faster everyday! He is such a joy in all of our lives and Brandon and Blake love being the BIG Brothers and playing with him. Last week we took the kids to the Disney trick or treating through California Adventure and they had a blast collecting candy, going on the rides, and being with their friends. Brody sat in his stroller and looked at all of lights and characters as they passed by.

This year Blake decided to be an Astronaut and Brandon will be an Airforce Pilot for Halloween. It is such a fun time of year, especially as the kids get bigger and really get excited for the Holidays. We wish you all a great Halloween with all of your family's and friends.

Brody is 4 Months

Our little boy is getting so big so fast...it is really true that time goes by faster and faster when you have 3 little ones growing so quickly. Brody is now 4 months old and he has such a great personality. He is always smiling and loves to giggle when you look at him or tickle his chunky legs. He loves to play under his play gym and can now roll onto his tummy, we are still working on getting back to his back and he gets a little frustrated. He also loves to sit in his boppy seat and play with the fun toy! Last night he had his first taste of solid foods and wasn't to interested in....we started with rice cereal and pears and he turned his nose up to both of them. I guess we will have to keep trying until he realizes that "FOOD IS YUMMY". Brody also loves his big brothers and they both take pretty good care of him when Mommy asks them too. Brandon could sit with him all day and play and Blake gets so excited every time Brody rolls over, just like it is the 1st time. Three boys definitely is a big task to take on, but they are all so different and fun and they each bring joy into our lives.

Brody is now 4 Months old and starting to roll from his back to tummy and side to side. He is such a happy little boy and he loves to be tickled. He now sleeps 10-12 hours at night and Mommy and Daddy are very happy to be getting the sleep as well.

San Diego

For our 8th anniversary we spent the week in San Diego...it was a fun filled week! The first day we went to Sea World and even had breakfast with Shamu.

There was lots of sea animals to touch and explore, the boys had a blast!

The second day we adventured to the USS Midway and spent over 3 hours looking at all of the planes and living quarters of the men who were once on the ship....it was huge!
Our last day of our vacation was spent at Legoland...the boys loved all of the great rides and little lego pieces there. What a great vacation we had....even little Brody had a great time and he did so well the whole week!

Summer Days

We have been very busy this summer and it is hard to believe that it is over and school will begin soon. The boys have spent most of the summer in their bathing suits, either swimming in the pool, water slides, or the beach.

September 2008 - First Day of School

It is hard to believe that Brandon is finished with Preschool and is on his way to "big kid school" (as he likes to call it) or Kindergarten. He has grown so much this year and has become a big boy! He now is able to recite and recognize all of the alphabet and is well on his way to couting to 100. This big achievement this year is that he now knows how to write his own name! We are so proud of you Brandon and all that you have learned this year. Here he comes Kindergarten!

Brody Nicolas Schalliol was born

7lbs 1 oz 20 inches

after a short 4 hour labor.....Mommy was very happy! Big Brothers Brandon and Blake are very excited that he has finally arrived and are very big helpers with little Brody!

Brody is famous!!! Just so happened that we were in the right place at the right time and NBC Nightly News was filming a segment for the news that evening from St Joseph Hospital and our nice nurse thought we would be the perfect family to interview. So after a quick coat of makeup and cleaning up the room the camera crew came in and the news anchor to interview and film us about weight gain in pregnancy. How many babies can say that they were 1 day old and already on national television...only more to come in your BRIGHT future little Brody!

After only a short 24 hour period we were ready to head home and see the boys and introduce Brody to his new home. Brody has been adjusting well and is a wonderful Little Boy!

Baseball season has begun and the Schalliol Boys are Angels Fans.....For Daddy's 34th birthday Brandon and him went to the Angels game. They had a blast eating peanuts and drinking Icees. Brandon loved wearing his Angels Jersey and took all of his Angels gear, including his rally monkey, in his Angels bag. LETS GO ANGELS!

Blake Matthew is now 3......hard to believe that 3 years since he was born has already gone by. He has really grow into a funny, loving, and trouble making big guy. Blake always keeps us on our toes and definately keeps us laughing! In the fall he will be going to preschool at Friends with his big brother and he is very excited! We are very proud of our soon to be "big brother".

Easter 2009

This year for Easter we went to Palm Desert and stayed at Papa and Nene's house for a couple of days...the boys were able to visit the Easter Bunny at the Mall, be the conductor of the Easter Train, and swim until their hearts content.

The is the Easter festivities at Papa and Nene's Clubhouse in Palm Desert. They do a great job for the kids and have two different Easter Egg hunts. Brandon was so excited because this year he was in the "big Kid" group...the cutest part was when Blake's group went to hunt for Eggs and Brandon happily followed him around encouraging him to get as many eggs as possible! During Brandon's Egg hunt, he found the "golden easter egg" which meant that he had to climb a Palm tree to get it. Because he was one of two "big kids" to find the special egg, he received a gift card to Barnes and Nobles (his favorite, books!).

The weather was warm and sunny in Palm Desert, as always, and we couldn't seem to get a picture of the four of us without someones hand over their eyes or having their eyes closed from the intense sun....this was the best we could do! Only 5 more weeks and our family of 4 will become 5....kind of scary!

Brandon actually took this picture of Scott and Blake...I think he is taking after his mom on his picture taking skills!

Being silly with Dad. Scott really knows how to get the boys excited right before bed time....it seems like he says the words "it is time for bed" and they start running around the house. Bedtime is always an exciting time in the Schalliol house.

I can't believe that we have a 5 year old....I feel like he was just a new little baby lying in the hospital. Brandon turned 5 on Feb 10th and he had a combined Birthday party with Blake this year even though Blake's birthday isn't until the end of March. We celebrated their birthday at the MY GYM with some of their friends and they had a blast.

Blakie loved the zip line...even though his big brother was afraid of the zip line, Blake jumped right up there and showed his brother how it is done.

6 Months Pregnant and Fun with Brandon & Blake

Over the last few months Brandon and Blake have become "Best Buds"...it is so much fun to see them play with each other and really enjoy what they are doing together. One of their favorite things to do together is ride their scooters in the front yard. I am amazed at how quickly Blake picked up riding his scooter and how far he is able to go on it. They love when we take Lily on a walk and they ride their Scooters around the block.

In January Lily celebrated her 1st birthday. She has been such a good dog for our family and she is wonderful with the boys. Blake is her best bud and he can crawl all over her and she loves it!

This is kind of an old picture, but I realized that I we have not taken many pictures of me being pregnant because I am usually the one behind the camera. I was 6 months pregnant in this picture, but I have now reach my 7th month and I am already in the 3rd trimester. It is hard to believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone by and thankfully, so far, it has been without any complications other than the normal pregnancy aches and pains. I am hoping to continue working until the second week of May, so we will see if I make it that long. I will have to get Scotty to take a more recent picture of me because my belly has really expanded over the last 2 weeks. Ahh the joys of pregnancy! I am just trying to enjoying it because I know this will be my last one.

My Big Boys!

As both Brandon and Blake's birhdays are approaching I have been thinkin about all of the things that they have accomplished in this last year.....Brandon played on his first real soccer team and loved every minute of it. The highlight of the season was receiving his very own trophy (just like Daddy's old ones) that he now take everywhere with him. He also had a solo part in the school Christmas Program that brought Mommy to tears, what a little "Ham". Brandon will be 5 in a few weeks, hard to believe that he is growing so quickly.

Our little Blake has also matured over the last year...he will be 3 at the end of March, but he thinks that he is 5 just like his big brother. Blake does what ever Brandon does and he has no fear. In the past few months he has mastered riding his scooter and speeds around the neighborhood. Blake has also gone into a big boy bed, potty trained, and become a Planet Earth enthusiast. He will be starting preschool in the fall and he is ready...FCS look out for "Blake Matthew" (as he likes to call himself).

Last week we went up to Big Bear so the boys could experience their first real snow adventure. Along with Daddy and Uncle Jody, the two big boys, they built a snow fort with 4 different tunnels to hide from all of the snow balls coming their way. They had such a great time playing in the snow, even Lily loved to run in the snow and play with the boys.

17 Weeks and Counting......

This past Monday we had an ultrasound at 17 weeks and they were able to see the sex of the baby. So thrid times a charm, right? It's a.............another Boy! Brandon and Blake were able to be there for the Ultrasound and they were both very excited to learn that they will be having another little brother. Mommy and Daddy were a little disappointed but are happy that the baby looks healthy and will have another boy to add to their soccer team!

Christmas Season

So it has been a long time since I have blogged.....it has been busy in the Schalliol house. Back in October Scott tore his achilles tendon reliving his soccer days and had surgery in early November. He is recovery well, but it is a long process and will take close to a year until he is back to "normal", we hope! I was fighting some morning sickness from baby #3 and taking care of my "3" boys in the house. It was not easy being pregnant and having Scott unable to move around, but we made it through. The boys are growing so fast and have been so excited for Christmas this year.

On our Annual trip to see the Fashion Island Christmas tree we also visited Santa's house. Thankfully there were no tears this year, just two brave little boys ready to say "hi" to Santa.

A funny story from the evening was when Brandon and Blake finally got up to the front of the line to see Santa and Brandon decided he didn't want to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas.......so I quickly pushed him along and told him he just needed to sit on his lap for a picture and say hello. So little brother Blake lead the way and hopped right up onto Santa's lap. When Santa asked the boys what they wanted for Christmas of course Blake started with his list first and told Santa he wanted all of the animals in the world. Mcuh to Santa's surprise he said "okay, I will see what I can do" as he looked at me to say good luck with that one mom. Then it was Brandon's turn.....I sat and listen to see what he was going to say and then he looked at Santa like such a big boy and said "Santa, I will write you a letter". I couldn't help but laugh and think about how much each of them have matured over this past year and what big "little" boys they are.

Brandon is now in the big 4 year olds class and he is so excited! This past Wednesday he started his second year of Preschool at Friends Christian School. He is now going to school 3 days a week and is loving it!

The funniest thing about Brandon's 1st day of school was his little brother Blake....he was so excited for Brandon to go back to school that he packed his own lunch box with about 10 fruit snacks, carried to Brandon's classroom, put it in Brandon's cubbie, and sat down with all the big kids to start the day. Blake was a little sad when he found out that the class was just for Brandon and he was not actually going to stay with him at school. Blake will definately be ready to start preschool next year!!

This past weekend we spent some time up in Big Bear for Grampa's 80th birthday. The weather was beautiful and the boys had a blast fishing, hiking, bird watching, & spending time with the family.

Brandon was able to ride on the Ski Bob behind the boat for the first time with his cousin Lauren and they stayed on for 40 minutes straight, depsite Grampa and Daddy trying to knock them off. The whole time Brandon kept yelling "Bigger Waves Grampa"!

Vacation Bible School

This week has been VBS at our church and Brandon has been having a blast.....poor Blake is still too young and he has been pretty dissapointed that he is not able to go to "Church Camp". This has given me an opportunity to spend time with just Blake and really work on his potty training skills. I am not quite sure how well he is doing, but he sure does like the candy reward when he does make it to the big boy potty.

Dylan & Brandon are best buds and they are pretty much together all the time. On the first two days of camp, Dylan would not go into their class without Brandon. Today they were able to go on the water slides at camp and they had a blast.

SummerTime Fun!

This has been a busy and fun summer for all of us and "man" has it gone by fast. Brandon and Blake have been spending most of the hot summer days playing with friends, swimming, and going to the beach. It is hard to believe that we are already in August.

Popsicles in the Schalliol family are a must and the Schalliol Boys must have one or two daily. Especially when it is a hot summer day or night a popsicle is the best way to cool off. Brandon and Blake's popsicle of choice right now are otter pops and I have to tell you they are my new favorite as well because they don't make a mess and it keeps them occupied for a little R&R for me!

Soccer for Brandon

Brandon will be on his first Soccer team this year and tomorrow is his 1st practice. Today we went to the soccer store and got his 1st pair of soccer cleets. He is so excited that he has been carrying his bag and ball around all day. His team will be Coed for his 1st year and their team name is the Silver Stars. Hawaii 2008

We just got back from a week long vacation to Oahu, Hawaii...it was such a fun week and the boys had a blast exploring the island, swimming in the pool, and playing in the ocean. We explored the Dole Pineapple planatation and mastered the pineapple maze, visited the USS Missouri, USS Arizona, and the Bowfin Submarine at Pearl Harbor, went the the Honolulu Zoo, and much much more! Brandon was able to experience boogie boarding for the first time and he had a blast. What a fun and relaxing trip we had and a great experience with our two boys!

Brandon's 1st year of School

Brandon has officially finished his first year of Preschool!!! Wow what a difference a year has been for him. In this past year we have watched him grow from being a little toddler to a big preschooler, that is able to share, make new friends, and show his little brother the ropes of being a Big Boy. We are so proud of the nice little boy Brandon is becoming and how he is learning the right way to treat people and play with his friends. Congratulations Brandon...you made it through your 1st year of school!

Hot California Days

The hot summer days has definately arrived and we are all trying to keep cool. One of the boys favorite things to do is to play in the water and on their cool slip-n-slide. We have also been spending a lot of time in the swimming pool where Brandon has now mastered jumping off of the diving board and swimming to the side all by himself. Blake is enjoying the water too and is learning to blow bubbles and swim a short distance. It is amazing how fast time is going...it feels like yesterday that Brandon was just learning to put his head under water and now he is such a big boy and swiming on his own.

Summertime Has Begun!

Summertime in California has begun for the Schalliol Clan....On friday we spent the day at Tanaka Farms tasting lots of yummy vegetables and picking Strawberries with all of our friends. Brandon and Blake had so much fun and felt like since big boys each carrying their own case of strawberries that they picked all by themselves. It was a hot and fun last day of May for 2008 and the strawberries were so good! Happy summertime to you all!

Blakie's Big Boy Bed

Today Blake got his big boy bed and after a little struggle with nap time he finally gave in to sleep in the big boy bed. I can't believe that he is already in a big bed...it was a little sad taking down the crib and storing it in the attic unsure if it will ever be used again! Yeah Blake for sleeping in your big boy bed for the first time, we are so proud of you!

Blakie is 2!

It is hard to believe that our little guys is now 2 years old and Brandon is now 4! Time is flying by so fast...Blake had a great 2nd birthday party with all of our family and friends. The theme of the party was Surf's Up, which is one of Blake's favorite movies. Blake's favorite part was all of the candy after the kids broke open the pinata. It was a great day!

Brandon's First Fish

Brandon went fishing this past Sunday for the first time with his Daddy and Grandpa....he had such a great time and he was the only on who caught a fish and it was a big one!
